Scott Edward Smith

 

Scott Edward Smith is a writer in theater, television, and film. He specializes in one-person shows of historically significant characters.

Scott began his career with production management at The Old Globe Theater, San Diego, The Mark Taper Forum and the Ahmanson Theater in Los Angeles. Broadway and national tours include original productions of Chicago, Equus, Raisin, Kenneth Branagh and David Parfitt productions of King Lear and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Les Miserable).     
 

Scott came to film and television writing first as a Story Editor for Dino DeLaurentis (Blue Velvet, Crimes of the Heart, Bedroom Window, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure).  He has adapted novels into screenplays for 20th Century Fox, Universal, MGM, and Warner Bros.

 

Scott’s most recent project is the highly acclaimed podcast audio drama series, "Intimate Fame". A series of one-person historical character dramas creating for the audience a “fly-on-the-wall” experience with some of the most fascinating people in history such as Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Wallis Simpson and the 2-character Taylor / Burton (Intimate Fame.com).
